The Maiden Heist

The Maiden Heist

I like how George Clooney thinks. I remember on an interview he said that at one point he realized that when he became a star he could no longer settle for just making sure his performance was good. That is to say, it was no longer okay for him to be in a bad movie with a good performance by George Clooney. He would have to be responsible, because now he was the reason people were coming.

Case in point: “The Maiden Heist.” I saw it because it features Christopher Walken (who admits he never turns down roles, I suppose), William H. Macy, and Morgan Freeman. I thought: these cats in a quirky caper comedy? How can that go wrong?

Let’s just say I now hesitate to take in a movie, simply because Mr. Morgan is in it.
